Pinicola enucleator is the totem bird for the lifelong partnership of Frederick W. Schueler and Aleta Karstad, and so we have named our web domain PINICOLA.CA

Pinicola is an essentially northern bird, breeding in the Boreal Forest, and appearing at our present home in Eastern Ontario only in winter feeding flocks.
